Bloom presents: My Mother's Mark
University of Kent, May 2018
For my final major project at University, I formed a theatre company with three friends and together we devised a semi-autobiographical, multi-disciplinary theatre piece called My Mother's Mark.
Each of us explored our relationships with our mothers and called on different art forms to express the stories, memories and conversations that formed the cornerstones of our relationships.
The final piece was a collage of poetry, song, movement and interview recordings, set in a garden made up of personal memorabilia. The space between the audience and stage was divided by a soil border that we would keep returning to to bury and unearth items pertinent to our stories.
